Mud gas separator is a professional primary degassing equipment for drilling fluids invaded by gas. It is used to separate big bubble with diameter more than 3mm from invaded drilling fluids.
Invaded drilling mud flow into the gas mud separator via inlet pipe. Fall down to a number of baffle plates designed in the vessel. Collision increases the exposed surface and downward flow resulting in turbulent flow then gas and fluid separated. Free gas discharged via degasser vent line. The exhaust pipe will transit gas to safe place for ignition. Degassed drilling mud will flow into the circulation mud tank.
Vacuum degasser mainly used to remove harmful gas. Vacuum degasser is constructed with vacuum pump, vessel body, motor and control cabinet. When the vacuum degasser works, with a vacuum pump suction the tank body will be in vacuum status. Under the action of the atmosphere pressure, drilling mud will flow into the tank through the pipeline. The degasser vessel is provided with an impeller. In the rapid rotation of the impeller, the drilling fluid with bubbles will flow out when bubbles broken. Rising gas will be pumped into the degasser through the vacuum pump. In the degasser, toxic hydrogen sulphide will dissolve in water. The remaining gas will be discharged via vacuum degasser gas vent line.
