Jet mixing pump maintenance

In order to improve jet mixing pump work efficiency, the flowing question should be noticed.

1. Choosing suitable drilling mud jet mixing pump. Usually, one hopper is enough for most of drilling equipment, if drilling mud circle displacement is more than 4550L/min, we had better consider to use 4550L/min hopper.

2. Keep the distance between the pipeline and the funnel as short and straight as possible. We must depend press head and flow rate of system request to choose pump and motor. In all system working, a venturi tube plays a good role. Especially when the system back pressure will reduce drilling funnel efficiency, venturi tube allows the fluid moving into a vertical direction that is higher than the height of the hopper. In many cases, the funnel is placed in the horizontal direction, and the downstream piping is put in equal or higher than the height of the head of drilling mud tank.

3. Using new and clean parts to reduce friction loss. Using clean liquid rinse the entire system after every work to prevent the drilling fluid dry block system, otherwise using funnel next time, running condition won’t be very ideal.

4. Table should be installed and fixed to funnel near to support the bags of materials. The height of table should be suitable, usually it is 0.9-1.1m so that the staff can use the smallest physical easily add material. A power assisted car and bags can be used to improve the speed of processors add and reduce the workload of staff.

5. Same to other drilling equipment maintenance, we should check and maintain hopper periodically. Drilling mud hopper is easy to operate, but worn the nozzle and the valve will affect the normal work. Check once every 30-60 days, it is the best to reserve one nozzle, valve and sleeve brush.
