Drilling fluids desander is an economical and practical solids removal equipment. Used as the second stage of solids control equipment in solids control system workflow.
The main work oilfield drilling mud desander is to remove the solids entrained drilling fluids with diameter between 45 and 75 microns.
Desander is the combination of drilling fluids desander and drilling fluids shale shaker. The main structure can be divided into two parts, the upper one is hydrocyclones while the underpart is drilling fluids shale shaker. The whole device is driven by a vibration motor.
The hydrocyclone drilling mud desander is operated in accordance with the principle of centrifugal separation. Fluid from centrifugal pump enters the tangential feed section of the hydrocyclone at high velocity on swirling motion creating a centrifugal force that accelerates the solids to the cone wall. The solids and liquid mixture rotates rapidly. While swirling downward the higher mass solids move toward the wall and exit the down section- cylinder through its apex while the lighter mass which are concentrated away from the wall towards the center line are now forced to reverse direction swirling upward exiting the vortex finder.
