Jet mud mixer is a subsidiary equipment in oil drilling solids control system. It plays very important role in drilling fluids mixing. Venturi tube is a critical part of jet mud mixer.
There are two reasons to use venture tube in jet mud mixer
1. Increase the shearing function for drilling fluids and dispersion effect of materials.
2. When the drilling fluid return back to the drilling fluid system, a number of pressure heads can be obtained to help the upstream or downstream flow of drilling fluid, which can be fully mixed into the tank.
The pressure surface flow rate of the nozzle drilling fluid tank is about 3.05m/s in the mixing device of low pressure. The size of the pressure pipeline is usually reduced from 152 to 51mm in turn, the flow rate of nozzle increases, but the pressure decreases. The high-speed fluid through the spray nozzle and Venturi tube between the opening and in the mixing chamber (or TEE) produced vacuum in the region, by the role of a three-way pipe within the area of low pressure and gravity together, sucking materials from hopper to three-way pipe and fluid flow. High speed fluid make the drilling fluid additives disperse to the liquid flow, thus reducing the solids agglomeration.
