Correct operation manual for shear pump

Shear pump is a special pump used to shear drilling mud additive, it can provide high shearing efficiency to accelerate dilution and hydration of the polymer, also can provide higher capacity and head to meet the requirements for the preparation and handling of the mud.
Notices before using shear pump
1. The suction and discharge flange of the shear pump shall comply with the relevant provisions.
2. The pump shaft connecting impeller should be firm and reliable.
3. Shear pump and prime mover drives should be installed protective cover.
4. Do a static balance test on impeller.
5. Pump shell should be carried out by water pressure test to ensure no leakage phenomenon.
6. Before installing, coating with anticorrosive pain on non-machined surface of parts that contacted with drilling fluid.
Shear pump installing skill
1. In the process of assembly, pay attention to adjusting the gap between the impeller and the retaining plate, and the gap should be in accordance with the design requirements.
2. After assemble the shear pump, the rotor should be flexible and no blocking phenomenon before pressing the filler.
3. After the factory performance test, should drain off water in pump completely and do the treatment of rust.
4. After antirust treatment and surface coating, the suction inlet and outfall should be covered by butt plate.
