Vacuum degasser is a technique of removing dissolved gas from a liquid solution by lowering the pressure inside a vessel containing the solution. Vacuum degasser is often utilized in water treatment,laboratory testing, soil purification, etc. In oilfield drilling industry, vacuum degasser is also an indispensable device.
The vacuum degasser efficiently removes entrained gases from the drilling fluid. Drilling fluids is pulled into the vacuum chamber and sent to umbrella-shaped, gas-separation layers through an orifice in the central pipe. Under vacuum conditions, gas bubbles develop in the drilling fluid. The fluid flows across the separation layers, releasing entrained gas the bubbles burst.
