How to solve shear pump failure better?

Shear pump is mainly used to shear polymer in drilling mud, preventing screen blocking, providing high shear efficiency, speeding up the polymer dilution, hydration process. However, in actual operation, there will be lots of faults need us to solve.
1. The problem of shear pump packing seal
Fault: Serious leakage and wear for packing seal. Sleeve surface wear.
Solutions: Remove filler, use fine wire removing on wall of sleeve, if there is deeper trench should replace sleeve. Gland tightly pressed will lead to packing severe wear.
2. The problem of shear pump polyurethane
Fault: Oil sealing severe wear leading to leakage
Solutions: Replace polyurethane oil sealing. Generally, pump running every 3-6 months we should replace polyurethane oil sealing and sleeve of shaft seal.
3. The problem of shear pump burnout
Fault: Packing gland pressed too tightly causes generating heat.
Solution: Replacement of packing, gland can not be pressed too tightly.
4. Shear pump impeller or vice impeller occurring abnormal running
Fault: The gap between impeller back and guard plate is too small, or the gap between vice impeller and guard plate packing box is too small.
Solution: Use bolt (29, 31) and nut(30) to adjust gap. After adjusting using hand to move shaft and check if there is resistance card, friction sound, flexible rotation.
