How to choose a suitable mud gun?

Low pressure mud gun is a critical equipment in solids control system. For a low pressure system, in order to ensure mud gun can work normally we must pay attention to following points on mud gun selection.
1. The size and types of nozzles
2. The quantity of elbow, three links and valves
3. The length of pipes
4. The dimension of used pipes

These parameters of mud gun are very important, before choosing pump, every mud gun parameter must be suitable. In the most of system, fluids through nozzles will loss the most of total pressure which is transferred by pump, and discharge pipes length, pipe diameter and pipe fittings all need suitable pump and motor. In order to reach given flow speed after through nozzles, commonly we need a specific total pressure head to overcome the system's friction force.

If using reducing pipe, the discharge capacity will come down. The longer pipes, the more connection mesh, the smaller pipe diameter, the bigger total pressure head needed. General rules of mud gun is as below:
1. Fluids speed should keep at 1.52m/s (to avoid solids settling)-3.05m/s(to avoid corrode pipes)
2. Pipe fittings and connection should be as less as possible.
3. Keep pipe lines as short as possible.
